Weston Beach Race 2017 Review

Weston Beach Race 2017 Review

It's been just over a week since the second HydroGarden Weston Beach Race - the 35th Weston Beach Race running - and the team have just about stopped traipsing sand through the office!

If you follow us on social media you'll be no stranger to the successes of our second year of sponsorship. It was an action packed weekend with…

  • Over 70,000 spectators visiting over the two day event
  • A brand spanking new, two storey HydroGarden show room -  check out the guided tour here!
  • Thousands of HydroGarden goodies being handed out to riders, campers and spectators
  • Harry Bradley, one of HydroGarden’s sponsored riders, coming 23rd in the Adult solo race – a great achievement when he was up against over 800 riders...and had 2 broken ribs!
  • Todd Kellett took gold in the Adult Solo race for the second year running!
  • Over 1,400 competition entrants, all hoping to win our 2017 Honda CRF250R. The lucky winner was Adam Cole from Gloucester – Congratulations!!
  • The event’s largest ever sand dune, which made the 6km track the toughest riders have ever seen
  • A whole host of star riders, including Dougie Lampkin performing stunts in our stand and David Knight MBE teaming up with Guy Martin to compete in the 2-man quad race
  • RHL’s event director, Gareth Jones, commending the event as their best yet!

The HydroGarden show stand demonstrated our LUMii, VitaLink, ROOT!T, PLANT!T and LightHouse brands where we could talk about the wonders of hydroponics with interested spectators. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our products to the public, raise awareness of these brands and the concept of growing hydroponically.

We cannot wait until next years' race! We have already got some great ideas..........
