As one of the UK’s premier hydroponics wholesalers with over 120 staff worldwide, HydroGarden is closely monitoring the impact of Coronavirus (COVID – 19) and following the advice of the World Health Organisation (WHO), the UK Government and other Governments worldwide in order to protect our staff and ensure that we continue to support our customers.

The safeguarding of our staff is of paramount importance and we are providing regular updates to them on both the situation and the necessary precautions to take including hygiene, travel and agile working advice.

We are fortunate that our IT infrastructure means that our staff in all locations can work remotely.

What we are doing
To minimise and mitigate the potential impact on our operations, our ongoing action plan comprises of:
  • Regular crisis management team meetings to continuously monitor the status of the virus and assess risks to our people and our business
  • The safeguarding of our staff in relation to travel and hygiene
  • Operational and IT planning to ensure as many as possible have the tools and ability to work remotely if advised to by local governments
  • Resource planning including team rotas to enable warehouse staff to work in a very safe working environment which involves spreading out staff shift times and working days
  • Business impact analysis to consider longer-term solutions to protect our customers and minimise the impact on their businesses
  • Supply chain management to ensure the impact of the lockdown is minimised and goods are available once trading opportunities improve. We are moving our focus to prioritise the stocking and provision of essential products
  • We are taking all necessary measures recommended in the daily changing government advice on continuing to run distribution services.

All of this means we can keep supplies open and give our customers a reasonable level of service – it will take longer than usual to pick goods, orders may be delayed, but they will get to you and they will do it in a SAFE manner.

While the infrastructure we have in place puts us in a strong position to minimise our exposure to the potential impacts of the Coronavirus, we will continue to closely monitor developments.
